It is essential that the show reflects trends in the industry and with that in mind, the organisers last year placed a special emphasis on precision farming. The interest that the theme generated was so significant that it is being repeated this year, and the agricultural business section will once again include all of the UK’s leading manufacturers, dealers and specialists, many of whom will feature new technology.

The Groundswell event provides a forum for farmers and anyone interested in food production or the environment to learn about the theory and practical applications of Conservation Agriculture or regenerative systems, including no-till, cover crops and re-introducing livestock into the arable rotation, with a view to improving soil health.

The event will feature a learning and development zone, with seminar sessions indoors and outdoors to engage, inspire and educate. 

Breeders from across the UK will be showing at the event. The cattle show will feature classes for Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Dairy Shorthorn, Guernsey, Jersey and Holstein.

Tillage-Live is an event for ploughs, cultivation and seedbed preparation equipment, drills and equipment for the arable farmer. The event will include a demonstration arena where exhibitors have the opportunity to exhibit one machine to make one run, in rotation, with a commentary to explain the benefits and features of that piece of equipment to a wider audience before they visit the working plots to see machines at work on larger plots.  The event will also include speficic areas for sprayers and guidance systems to be demonstrated in working conditions.

The Scottish Championships are held annually in October – in a different area of the country every year – with the aim of promoting the importance of good ploughing.
